Here is a quick insight into some of our more unusual cases at Chantry Vets!
Pictured is Dobby, a skinny male guinea pig (a special breed with no hair). Dobby recently suffered with stomach bloat and suffered generalised weakness and some neurological side effects from the medications he received. He was unable to walk and hold his head up for a while and so he received supportive physiotherapy during his recovery. In this picture Dobby is receiving pulse electromagnetic field therapy from our in house Physiotherapist Emma Green. This form of therapy increases blood flow to all muscles exposed. Exercise is very important to a guinea pig's digestion so it was vital Dobby was up walking about as soon as possible - a couple of weeks later he is doing amazingly well and has resumed his usual piggy duties - which mostly involve making a mess!
